'Sunny Fish' Fountain Soon to Be Sunny Again

'Sunny Fish' Fountain Soon to Be Sunny Again

The fountain 'Solnechnye rybki', which is translated as 'sunny fish' from Russian, is one of the symbols of Bishkek. The fountain complex is located at the crossing of Abdrahmanova and Toktogula streets and it's been a long time since its last renewal. 

Good news is it is soon to be renewed according to the Mayor's office — the complex will be washed and painted. Moreover some new lighting will be installed as well.

According to the city authorities, they're are planning to build a leisure area with benches on the site. The design for the project has been finished already.

The fountain complex was built in 1982. It was designed by Vladimir Krugman, a painter, who currently lives in Germany and considers the fountain one of his best works.
