Trekking Union of Kyrgyz Republic: Calendar for August 2017

Trekking Union of Kyrgyz Republic has published its calendar of tours for August 2017. There are 7 tours planned including tours to lakes and different gorges. So if you decided to dedicate some time to outdoor activities, you can choose from the calendar below. Aug 5, Saturday, 8 am: Tour to Ala-Archa Gorge

One-day tour to Ala-Archa gorge with trekking till Top-Karagai gorge and a picnic.

Recommended gear: hiking boots, a wind jacket, sunglasses, a hat, a backpack.

Price: KGS 450 per person (for a group of fifteen people, price includes transportation), KGS 350 for TUK members.


Aug 5, Saturday, 8 am: Tour to Sokuluk Gorge

One-day tour to Sokuluk Gorge with a visit to the waterfall and a picnic. The road is 170 km from Bishkek, hiking route is 7 km and the elevation change is 250 m. 

Recommended gear: waterproof hiking boots, a jacket, a hat, a backpack.

Price: KGS 470 per person (for a group of fifteen people, price includes transportation), KGS 370 for TUK members.


Aug 6, Sunday, 8 am: Tour to Lake Kol-Tor

One-day tour to Kol-Tor Gorge with a visit to the lake. The road is 170 km, hiking route is 14 km and the elevation change is 900 m.

Recommended gear: hiking boots, a wind jacket, trekking poles, sunglasses, a hat, a backpack.

Price: KGS 480 per person (for a group of fifteen people, price includes transportation), KGS 340 for TUK members.


Aug 6, Sunday, 8 am: Tour to Shamsi Gorge

One-day tour to Shamsi Gorge with a picnic. The road is 200 km, hiking route is 9 km and the elevation change is 300 m.

Recommended gear: hiking boots, a wind jacket, sunglasses, a hat, a backpack.

Price: KGS 500 per person (for a group of fifteen people, price includes transportation), KGS 370 for TUK members.


Aug 5-6, Saturday-Sunday: Tour to Lake Son-Kol

Two-day tour to Lake Son-Kol — departure on Saturday morning with visiting Orto-Tokoi Water Storage, Kochkor village and Kalmak-Ashuu Pass. Staying at Baatai-Aral yurt camp. Sunday has a free program — you can enjoy the lake, ride a horse or just walk. At 2:30 pm the bus goes back to Bishkek. The road is 600 km, hiking route is 3 km. 

Recommended gear: no special gear.

Price: KGS 2,200 per person (for a group of twelve people, price includes transportation only, meals and gear rent are not included), KGS 1,700 for TUK members. You can use tents or stay in yurts for KGS 900 per person (breakfast and dinner included, no lunches). Horse-riding is KGS 800 per day. 


Aug 3—Aug 7, Thursday—Monday: Tour to Lake Sary-Chelek

Five-day tour to Sary-Chelek National Park in Zhalal-Abad region. The road takes two days and the rest is for enjoying the park and the lakes. The road is 1,100 km and the hiking route is 35 km. The elevation change is 1,350 m. The program is the following:
Day 1: departure from Bishkek early in the morning with a picnic on the way and an overnight stay in Kara-Suu village.
Day 2: visiting the lake Kara-Suu after a breakfast. An overnight stay at the lake.
Day 3: hiking through Kotormo Pass after a breakfast, visiting Lake Iiri-Kol, a picnic and an overnight stay at the lake.
Day 4: visiting lakes Choichok-Kol and Kyla-Kol with further hiking to the large Lake Sary-Chelek. A picnic and an overnight stay at the lake.
Day 4: going back to Bishkek after a breakfast.

Recommended gear: general gear for hiking.

Price: KGS 3,800 per person (for a group of twelve people, price includes transportation, a guide and an entry fee only, no meals and gear rent included), KGS 3,600 for TUK members. Foreign citizens are subject to an additional fee of KGS 400.


Aug 10—Aug 13, Thursday—Sunday: Tour to Lake Kel-Suu

Four-day tour to Lake Kel-Suu, which is located at 3,500 m above sea level in Naryn region. The road takes two days and the rest is for enjoying the lake. The road is 1,200 km and the hiking route is 15 km. The program is the following:
Day 1: departure from Bishkek early in the morning with visits to Orto-Tokoi Water Storage, Kochkor village, Dolon Pass and Naryn town with an overnight stay in tents next to Ak-Sai river.
Days 2 and 3: visiting the lake itself.
Day 4: going back to Bishkek after a breakfast.

Recommended gear: general gear for hiking. A special permit should be received in advance, which can be made with the help of TUK.

Price: KGS 7,800 per person (for a group of five people, price includes transportation only, no meals and gear rent included), KGS 7,500 for TUK members.
