Lake Chatyr-Kol (Chatyr-Kul)

Chatyr-Kol or sometimes Chatyr-Kul is a lake located in Naryn region of Kyrgyz Republic at the altitude of 3,530 m. It is the third largest lake in the country with the area of 75 square km and its name is translated from Kyrgyz as a 'sky lake'.

Being among glaciers, it is a natural habitat for various species including snow leopards, a national symbol of Kyrgyz Republic.
