World Nomad Games 2018: Official Dates

It's official. The third World Nomad Games will start September 2, 2018 at the Cholpon-Ata Hippodrome in the Issyk-Kul region. The official website announced competitions in 36 kinds of sports with 3,000 athletes from 80 countries. Media coverage is promised to be significant too — around 500 media representatives from 50 countries are to be invited to the event. Last time the Kyrgyz Republic got almost on every major world media thanks to the games. 

The authorities of the Kyrgyz Republic have decided to host the games every two years. Earlier there were proposals to pass the World Nomad Games from country to country, but the idea eventually was ignored. GO KG offers to have a look how the games went in 2016: from the opening ceremony to the national festival in Kyrchyn Gorge.

The World Nomad Games were launched in 2014. The nomadic version of the Olympic Games are aimed at revival and preservation of the historical cultural heritage of the nomadic people’s civilization of the world. Representatives from over 40 countries took part in 2016.
