XIX century's famous Russian traveler, Nikolai Przevalsky was among the first to make an expedition to the Central Asia. He was fascinated by Lake Issyk-Kul and its surroundings. The place, where his journey finished, Karakol, now has a museum dedicated to him.
The museum tells us about the life of the traveler. Over 500 photos, documents, awards, personal items of Przevalsky can be found in it. There is also a garden and a monument of the traveler with is a bronze eagle on top.
