As the UNESCO World Heritage List puts it, Sulaiman Too Sacred Mountain dominates the Fergana Valley and forms the backdrop to the city of Osh, at the crossroads of important routes on the Central Asian Silk Roads. It was the first object in Kyrgyz Republic to make it to the list.
Located in central part of Osh city, it attracts pilgrims both from other regions of the country and other countries. The mountain is a part of the historical and architectural complex. The mountain's five peaks and slopes contain sacred caves with petroglyphs and XVI century mosques. The site is believed to represent the most complete example of a sacred mountain anywhere in Central Asia, worshipped over several millennia, according to UNESCO.
